An attempt at seeling how that performance is sculpted, an essay about a white photographer who wants to multiudinously be consumed by this gaze, the earliest medical images of hysterical women, and an essay on how photography becomes the fantasy of memory giving weight and evidence to a narrative of female degradation through medical documentation of the theater of hysterical women. Created for the occasion of “A Subtle Likeness” curated by Erin Christovale for the ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries.
